A festival with friends, a company seminar, a wedding, a surf club, a school trip: as soon as you travel as a group, transport becomes the thing everyone depends on. Taxis split the group and multiply the costs; buses do not wait. A van or minibus with a driver keeps everyone together, on your schedule: that is the whole point of group transport in Essaouira.
Here is how group transport in Essaouira works with us — vehicles, prices and organisation.
Which vehicle for your group?
| Group size | Vehicle | Examples in our fleet |
|---|---|---|
| 1 – 3 passengers | Sedan or SUV | Skoda Superb, Skoda Kodiaq, Mercedes E-Class, Toyota 4x4 |
| 4 – 7 passengers | Van | Mercedes Vito Tourer, Mercedes V-Class, Renault Trafic, Ford Transit |
| 8 – 17 passengers | Minibus | Mercedes Sprinter |
| 18 and more | Several vehicles | Combination of minibuses and vans, one coordinator |
All vehicles are air-conditioned and driven by professional drivers. Premium models such as the Mercedes V-Class or E-Class come with a small supplement. See them on our vehicles page.
Luggage tip: a minibus full of passengers with large suitcases, surfboards or musical instruments may need extra space. Tell us what you are carrying and we will advise whether a second vehicle makes sense.

How we organise group transport in Essaouira
- You send the list: names, flight numbers or pick-up times, accommodation.
- We group the journeys by airport and time to use as few vehicles as possible.
- Meet and greet at arrivals with a name sign or your group's logo; we follow flights and wait free for 60 minutes after landing.
- During your stay: shuttles between hotels, venues, restaurants and excursions — on your timetable, including late at night after a concert or a party.
- Departures: returns to Marrakech, Essaouira, Agadir or Casablanca airports, planned around flights.
One coordinator stays in touch with you on WhatsApp throughout.
Good to know: a minibus cannot drive inside the medina. For riads, we stop at the nearest gate or car park, and porters with hand carts take the luggage the last few metres — agree their price before they load up.
Typical group trips we run
- Festivals: the Gnaoua festival, the Andalousies Atlantiques or Jazz sous l'Arganier — see getting to Essaouira for a festival.
- Conferences and seminars: delegate arrivals and daily shuttles — see business events in Essaouira and corporate seminars.
- Weddings: guest arrivals and wedding-night shuttles — see our wedding transport guide.
- Surf and kite groups: boards and kite bags on board — see surf and kitesurf in Essaouira.
- Excursions: a full day on the coast for the whole group with our full-day excursion to Sidi Kaouki.
If your group lands in Marrakech, our guide to group transfers from Marrakech airport explains how arrivals work there.
Checklist for group organisers
Before you send us your request, gather:
- The number of travellers, including children (and their ages for child seats).
- Flight numbers or train times for each arrival and departure.
- The address of each accommodation, with a phone number for medina riads.
- The luggage: suitcases, boards, instruments, wheelchairs or pushchairs.
- The programme: dinners, concerts, excursions and the times you need a vehicle.
- A contact on site who can be reached on WhatsApp.
With this list, we can propose the right number and size of vehicles in one go, and avoid paying for empty seats.
Comfort on the road
All our vans and minibuses are air-conditioned, with bottled water on board. On longer routes — Marrakech, Agadir or Casablanca — the driver stops for a coffee or a photo whenever the group wishes. Elderly travellers and people with reduced mobility can tell us in advance: we choose a vehicle that is easy to get into and help with the luggage.
Our tip: for groups larger than 17, two smaller vehicles are often more flexible than one big one — they can split up when part of the group wants to leave a dinner or a concert early, and they fit more easily near the medina gates.
Book early for busy dates
Minibuses are the first vehicles to be booked on festival weekends, around New Year and in the wedding season. Send us your dates and group size through our contact page or on WhatsApp as soon as you know them: we will reply with a fixed-price proposal for every journey.
